Wataru Minakami is the beloved older brother of all of the sisters. In the first season of the anime series, he is completely taken by surprise with the realization that he has 12 sisters and is initially overwhelmed by their presence. Failing the entrance exam to the school that he and his classmates would attend sets in motion the events that introduce him to the girls on Promised Island. Although at first more concerned about returning to the way his life used to be, over time he completely changes as a person as his bonds with the girls grow day by day.

In Sister Princess RePure, any chance that the girls have to spend time with him always brightens their day. The girls describe him as "cool, gentle, and the best and only brother we have in the world". He is very selfless in that he would do anything in order for his sisters to be happy, putting them before himself. Even with the close relationship that the girls have with him, some of them wish to know even more about him such as what a day in his life is like and what his favorite things are.
